Catalogue Comparisons

This is the original catalogue for the Thamesmead estate which I took as inspiration for my own publication (see previous post) I have fallen in love with Compacta, the title typface they have used throughout, I want to use it for everything now!

FUTURE LIVING book

THAMESMEAD: Photoshoot

After my last head piece experiment I built 10 more simplified versions and then press ganged my friends into being photographed on Thamesmead estate. It was interesting to hear their feedback on how uneasy and restricted they felt whilst wearing the headpieces and I'm pleased with the photos salvaged from the customary digital camera meltdown and delete fiasco!

Photography: Kate Licnachan; Art Direction/ Back up Photography: Holly Black; Models: Rach Taylor, Roo Marcus, Kate Licnachan, Billy Bartram, Charlie Hocking, Grace Poulter, Marjo Loponen, Natalia Balska, Amy Friend, Jonathan Venga, Jo Woolhead.

THAMESMEAD: Head piece tests

This is my most complex head piece which I made for my project based on 60s housing estates. It's designed to create a faceless human being based on Brutalist social housing structures, whilst also confining and restricting the view of the wearer.
