Based on Graham Green's "Brighton Rock" this book is focuses on the unromanticised Brighton: when the town is empty and out of season. The text is from original Brighton Gazette newspaper archives dating from the Whitsun Bank Holiday weekend tin which Greene's book is set. The violent and sinister nature of these headlines demonstrates that even on the sunniest of holidays danger and misfortune is never far away.
